Dr. Sapna Patel

Dr. Patel is an Assistant Professor and Director of Online Media in the Department of Melanoma Medical Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She is principal investigator for several melanoma trials including those using checkpoint inhibitors, targeted therapy, and combination targeted and immunotherapy. With a special interest in uveal melanoma, she leads trials, research, and working groups in this area at MD Anderson. Dr. Patel has co-authored several book chapters in melanoma as well as multiple peer-reviewed articles in both cutaneous and uveal melanoma. She also directs the MD Anderson Melanoma Medical Oncology Facebook and Twitter pages. Her research interests lie in uveal melanoma, targeted therapies, and combinatorial approaches to both adjuvant and metastatic disease.
