Dale S. was a busy and active mother of five, who also cared for a stepchild and niece, before she was diagnosed with interstitial lung disease, or ILD – a group of over 200 rare but potentially serious conditions that can cause scarring of the lungs and may make it difficult to breathe. It took doctors eight months to take her symptoms seriously and provide a correct diagnosis. Since then, she's used her experience to help others advocate for themselves on their own health journeys through Boehringer Ingelheim's Lungs & You program.
