Freshpet introduced fresh food into the American pet market in 2006, carving out a new category within the pet food industry. As seasoned veterans in the pet food realm, we adopted an outsider's perspective to revolutionize the way we think about nourishing our pets.

We recognized that our pets deserved better than the current offering; highly processed, shelf stable food. We knew there had to be a better way, for our own pets, and for all pets everywhere.

So, we started Freshpet, dedicated to providing wholesome, fresh meals, just like the food we eat. No preservatives, no unnecessary additives, only what our pets truly need and nothing they don’t.

It’s real, fresh food our pets deserve; which is why we consider every little ingredient that goes into our food, and why our food is made in our Kitchens, not in industrial plants. And it’s why we are constantly looking for ways to make our food even more like the food we eat.
