Watching your toddler fall to the floor in a puddle of shrieks in public is enough to mortify any parent. But it's important to remember that tantrums are a natural part of your child’s development. They emerge from feelings of frustration as he or she is beginning to develop language but can’t yet use words to express emotions.

Of course, the intensity of the tantrums will vary depending on your child’s temperament. But here are six things you need to know to weather the storm and empower your child to recover:
