Summertime is upon us, and our skin sometimes takes a beating from generous sun exposure, humidity, chlorine and salt water. In spite of this abuse, you can have radiant skin for summertime and all year long!
My Skin-Saving Smoothie combines aloe vera, mint, cucumber, parsley, kale, green apple, chia and spirulina to promote purification from within.
Skin Saint Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cup purified water or raw young coconut water
- 2 oz organic aloe vera
- 1/2 organic cucumber, skinned
- 1 organic green apple, skinned
- 1 handful of parsley
- 3 leaves of kale or a handful of spinach
- 5-10 mint leaves
- 2 tbs chia seeds
- 1 tbs spirulina
Directions:
Simply blend until smooth. Sip slowly and enjoy! Keeping these tips in mind, healthy, glowing summer skin is easy to maintain. Remember to opt for a hat, coverup, shades and organic SPF over chemical-laden sunscreens which typically cause breakouts for sensitive skin and wreck havoc on our toxic load. Have fun in the sun!
