Hair Growth Goals? The Results From This Natural Serum Stopped Me In My Tracks
There was once a time when the only fixes for hair thinning were in-office procedures. Then came the daily fistful of capsules. Now, brands are making big strides with science-backed topicals and natural at-home solutions that offer some pretty incredible results.
Case in point: My jaw dropped when I saw the before-and-after photos from the SickScience PowerCycle serum. Results this good always make me skeptical, but once I read up on the science behind it I knew I had to try this serum for myself.
As someone who spent years trying various hair growth supplements, I was thrilled to get my hands on a natural, drug-free alternative that I didn’t have to ingest. My goal? Longer, fuller, healthier hair, and new growth around my hairline.
Psst: You can save 15% with code MINDBODYGREEN.
Editor’s note: The brand’s ShapeShift neck-firming serum has already sold out twice since launching earlier this year (it's back in stock now!), and I'm guessing this hair growth treatment will follow suit.
How the serum works
Exosomes have recently become popular in the skin care world for their ability to promote natural results, rather than relying on external sources.
"The industry is starting to move toward these kinds of treatments and potential developments where you're using your body's own tools," board-certified dermatologist Caren Campbell, M.D. previously told mindbodygreen of rejuvenation innovations such as exosomes, stem cells, and PRP.
And that’s exactly what this PowerCycle serum does. The formula promotes hair growth at the molecular level, without drugs, prescriptions, microneedling, or invasive treatments.
Biotech beauty company SickScience was co-founded by molecular scientists Polen Koçak, Ph.D., and Merve Yildirim, Ph.D. They created PowerCycle using the brand’s exclusive NX35 plant-based exosome technology (derived from wheat and garlic stem cells).
The serum also contains bioengineered biotin, which works with the NX35 using biomimetic science. Together, the NX35 and bioengineered biotin identify key cells in your scalp and hair follicle and signal them to kick into action.
Think of these powerful ingredients as a delivery truck dropping off detailed instructions for achieving fuller, thicker, healthier hair.
How to use the serum
As with most hair- and skin-care treatments, you’ll need to be consistent if you want to see real results. The brand recommends applying PowerCycle once per day on damp or dry hair.
Using the handheld dropper, you’ll apply one full drop to key areas of concern or all over your scalp (my treatment of choice). Next, simply massage the serum into your scalp with your fingertips and style your hair as usual.
I’ve been using the PowerCycle treatment for two weeks straight (haven’t missed a day!) and the brand says you can expect results in as little as four weeks.
Results from the serum
Okay, wow. Don’t look at these before-and-after shots unless you’re prepared to buy this serum.
The above photos show the difference PowerCycle made in just 28 days, on two different heads of hair.
Of course, there’s clinical data to back up the results (the founders are scientists, after all). The brand conducted a clinical study with 50 participants over the course of eight weights, and every single one of them experienced improvements in hair thickness.
What’s more, 89% of the study’s participants experienced an improvement in hair-density. On average the participants saw a 29% increase in hair thickness.
Like I said, I’ve only been using the serum for two weeks—but the photos, clinical study, and testimonials are enough to keep me consistent, and I truly cannot wait to see my own improvements.
The best part? PowerCycle only costs $58, and the capsule contains a two-month supply. For reference: Other popular exosome hair serums cost north of $300, and PowerCycle's results are no less impressive.
The takeaway
Don’t want to take a pill for hair growth? Try this science-backed PowerCycle formula to promote fuller, thicker, healthier hair at a molecular level. It’s been a long time since before-and-after photos stopped me in my tracks, and I love that there are clinical studies to back them.
Just be warned: This serum will sell out quickly. Use code MINDBODYGREEN for 15% off.
