When you hear the word “doughnut," the last thing that usually pops into your mind is “healthy." Doughnuts are seen as the worst of the worst and are often put on the do-not-eat list. Instead of crossing doughnuts off the list, just make doughnuts work for you!

Use healthy fiber, protein, fats, and a little chocolate to create a doughnut worthy of the most skeptical health nut's diet. Make it healthy, filling and delicious so that you can have your doughnut and eat it too!

No-Bake Chocolate Doughnuts

Makes 8-12 doughnuts

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate powder
  • 1/2 cup chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 2 1/2 cups oatmeal, blended into flour
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 3/4 cup warm water

Directions

Blend oatmeal until it is flour-like in consistency. Mix all ingredients, except water, together in a bowl. Slowly add water in small amounts, until the mixture clumps but isn't runny. You can use your hands to mix it together into one giant ball. Grab a doughnut pan (or two!) and scoop out a small amount to spread into the doughnut mold.

Repeat until you've used all the dough. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Keep refrigerated until ready to eat. These make a great breakfast with your morning cup of coffee or green juice!
