The word “God” means different things to different people. For me, the relationship I had with the G-word wasn’t so great for a long time. I grew up Southern Baptist, and was always curious why I was told I shouldn't make out with boys, among other things.

My relationship with the word changed when I found a definition that rang true to me.

What if, every time you create something, you wake up that little piece of God inside of you?

So let’s define what “God” means, at least for the purposes of this article. My favorite (working) definition of the moment is:

"The collective consciousness of all that is."

Eckhart Tolle defines it as, “The power of life itself. Which is different from a mental concept of God. Even belief in God is only a poor substitute for the living reality of God manifesting every moment of your life.”

If God is omnipresent, it means that God is everywhere, including inside of you. This may sound fancy and even a bit arrogant, because how do we know that God is you, me and your puppy dog; all the planets and all the stars; and even the computer or phone you're reading this on?

How do you access that divinity inside of you on the bad days, or when you feel isolated, small and alone?

You create.

Make something, write something, put on your favorite song and dance around your living room, make a new dish for dinner. Any act of creativity is an act of divinity. What if every time you create something, you wake up that little piece of God inside of you?

Nature constantly uses humans as vessels for creativity, and it’s our job to download the information and bring it from the un-manifest into the manifest. Our ideas are not our own, but rather nature’s way of using us to further its agenda of constant expansion and evolution.

So how can we wake up to our inner divinity every single day? It begins with our inner dialogue:

Inner dialogue that keeps you in a creative rut:

What do I really have to offer?

There’s no point.

I am not as talented as _______.

What if it fails?

I’m trying …

I’ll rip off this awesome blog instead of writing my own.

I can’t create anything if I don’t feel inspired.

I’ll watch Game of Thrones instead.

Inner dialogue to wake up your inner G-word:

Just start.

These ideas are not my own.

How can I be of service?

What if I rob someone of the opportunity to learn if I don’t create?

How do my gifts best serve the need of the time?

Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.

Don’t let good be the enemy of done.

Energy can either create or destroy, but doesn’t know how to be stagnant, which is why nature doesn't support stagnation. The more you create, the more of nature’s support you will get.

Your challenge this week is to create something — anything — every day this week. Start a company, write a song, learn to make sushi, get pregnant (please take a minute to consider this one), or try a new recipe. It doesn’t matter how big or small; simply create.
