Figs are delicate and seductive, which makes them the perfect complement to a superfoods-infused dessert! This simple sauce will satisfy your belly in just a few bites and is best shared with someone you adore!

Ingredients

  • 10 ripe organic figs
  • 1 teaspoon goji berries, plus more for your topping if desired (not the hard crunchy goji berries!)
  • 1/2 teaspoon raw chocolate powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon spirulina powder
  • Small pinch sea salt

You want to pick figs that are a bit soft and not hard for a sweet, figgy flavor. For the chocolate, raw is best (as opposed to processed cocoa powder) so that you receive the maximum amount of nutrition possible (magnesium, iron, chromium, amino acids & more). Spirulina is one of the most nutritious foods on the planet and one you don't want to miss if you want the naturally beautifying effects it delivers.

Directions

De-stem the figs and place all ingredients into a Vitamix or blender and blend until smooth. It's OK if the goji berries do not break down completely; they lend a great chewiness to the final dish!

Chill in the fridge until ready to serve.

This is a perishable dessert and best eaten within a few hours to ensure you enjoy the full flavor it has to offer.

Serving Ideas

  • Dip for ripe bananas, mango, or apples
  • Dip for raw crackers or chips
  • Jam on your Ezekiel toast

Feel free to double the recipe for bigger family gatherings or community potlucks!
