Manifest the year of your dreams by going inward. Renew You 2017 is a month of mindfulness during which we’ll share content that guides you to create a deeply rooted intention for the new year. We’ll help you navigate inevitable obstacles with the latest science on habits, motivation, ritual, and more and equip you with tried-and-true techniques to outsmart even the toughest inner critic.

Looking to make a change in the new year? Approaching new habits from a place of self-satisfaction gives you a leg up in achieving your goals. Cultivating a self-affirmation practice has been shown to increase one's ability to problem-solve, and it gives you a sunnier outlook on life and can even be good for your physical health. Research found that self-encouragement led to better health decisions. And recently divorced individuals were found to recover from emotional trauma more quickly when they spoke compassionately to themselves. Self-love isn't a fleeting feeling; it's a skill you can hone, and should.

A self-love practice is easy to grow.

  1. To start, write out a list of eight things you genuinely love about yourself.
  2. Hang it in a place you pass often, like a bathroom mirror or a refrigerator.
  3. Read it every day, then notice how those qualities come to life throughout your day.
  4. Every Sunday, add a new item to your list.
